"From an early age, design and construction have always interested me, particularly stonework and landscape.

At the tender age of thirteen, after some instruction from my grandfather, I was allowed to terrace and build stone walls in my parents' garden at home; I made a fine job of it and was properly rewarded!

This experience sparked my interest further and so began the journey to where I am today.

It was some years later, whilst in conversation with my grandparents about my apparent skills, that I discovered that they were not at all surprised about my natural abilities with stonework, as my great grandfather had been renowned as one of the best dry stone wall builders working in South Wales.

My confidence grew with each stage of learning - being employed in July 2000 by a local landscaping company and attending a college course in construction fired my enthusiasm still further.

I "took the plunge" and became self-employed in October 2002, working on a three-storey farmhouse in Grosmont. The job was quite a large undertaking; landscaping, building retaining walls and dry stone walling.

During 2007 I started installing natural stone and slate interior floors to complement my exterior work.

Throughout my many commissions over the years, I have continued to expand and perfect my skills to a very high standard - I believe that good stonework is an artform that can enhance any living space and provide a lifetime of enjoyment for the owners of a property."
